Quick answer: An AdSense account disabled for invalid traffic gets one appeal and no second chance. Google holds any remaining payment for 30 days, bans you from opening a new AdSense account, and states that reinstatement is not guaranteed. Submit the invalid activity appeal carefully, once, and do not create another account while you wait.
The email arrives without warning. Your AdSense account has been disabled because of invalid traffic activity, and your ads have stopped.
Two things happen next in almost every case. The creator panics and creates a second AdSense account, which is the single worst move available. And the creator writes an angry appeal in five minutes, which is the one chance they had.
This post sets out what Google actually does when an account is disabled, how the appeal works, and what to do in the order that matters. Everything here comes from Google’s own documentation rather than from forum advice.
If your channel was taken over rather than disabled, that is a different problem and our guide to a YouTube channel hacked in Pakistan covers it.
What Does an AdSense Account Disabled for Invalid Traffic Mean?
Invalid traffic means clicks or views that Google’s systems judge not to be genuine viewing.
The important part, and the part most creators do not know, is that it does not require you to have done anything deliberately. YouTube’s own documentation on an AdSense for YouTube account disabled for invalid traffic states that invalid traffic may affect your channel even if you are not intentionally driving it.
In practice that covers a wide range of situations:
- A view-exchange or sub4sub service you used months ago
- Bought views from a cheap promotion service, including ones a third party ran for you
- A friend or group repeatedly opening and refreshing your videos to help
- Automated traffic sent to your channel by someone else, with no involvement from you
- Clicking your own ads, even a few times, even by accident
That last one catches people. So does the fourth, which is why this can happen to a creator who did nothing wrong at all.
Before going further, check which of three different things has actually happened to you, because they get confused constantly and only one of them is this post.
| What happened | What you see | How bad | Where to read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ads restricted | Yellow icon on videos, ads still run but limited | Recoverable, often same week | YouTube limited ads |
| Videos demonetised | Specific videos lose ads, account fine | Recoverable per video | Demonetisation |
| AdSense account disabled | All ads stopped, AdSense sign-in blocked, email about invalid traffic | One appeal, no new account | This post |
If your situation is either of the first two, you are in better shape than you think and this post is not the one you need.
What Happens to Your Money and Your Account?
Three consequences, and they are worth knowing precisely because they shape what you should do today.
A 30-day payment hold. Google places a hold when the account is disabled. After it passes, you can sign in to AdSense to see any remaining eligible balance and arrange payment. Only revenue that was not flagged as invalid can be paid out, so the final figure is often lower than the balance you remember.
No new account, ever. Google’s documentation is explicit that creators disabled for invalid traffic cannot rejoin AdSense or open new accounts. Opening one under a family member’s name or CNIC is the most common mistake made in this situation, and it converts a recoverable problem into a permanent one, because it adds a policy violation on top of the original decision.
Tax forms may still arrive. If you were previously paid or hold a payable balance, you may still receive a tax form. That does not mean the account is active. If you are working out what this means for your filing, our guide to freelancer tax in Pakistan covers how YouTube income is treated here.
How Do You Appeal Properly?
You get one appeal, so it is worth an hour rather than five minutes.
The route is the AdSense invalid activity appeal form, linked from Google’s page on an AdSense account closed for invalid traffic. Before you open it, gather what you need.
- Read the notification email again and note the exact wording. Appeal against what Google said, not what you assume it said.
- Include the email address linked to the disabled account. Google states this helps speed up processing, and appeals submitted without it sit longer.
- State plainly that you did not cause the invalid traffic, directly or indirectly, including anyone you are responsible for. Google asks for this specifically. Do not soften it and do not leave it out.
- Explain the likely cause honestly. If you once used a promotion service, say so and say when you stopped. A credible explanation reads better than a denial of everything, and reviewers see thousands of blanket denials.
- Say how you will prevent it recurring. Google recommends including this. It is a short paragraph and it costs nothing to add.
- Keep it factual and short. No anger, no appeals to how long you worked, no mention of your financial situation. None of that is what is being assessed.
Then submit it once and wait. Google reviews the information and issues a final decision, and once a decision is reached, further appeals may not be considered. Submitting repeatedly does not raise your chances.
If you are reinstated, ads may take up to 48 hours to resume, and you may need to reconnect your YouTube channel to the AdSense account before anything starts earning again.
What Should You Not Do?
Four things that turn an AdSense account disabled notice into something permanent, in rough order of how badly.
Do not open a new AdSense account. This is permanent and it is the most common reaction. If someone offers to monetise your channel through their AdSense account, that is the same violation with an extra person attached.
Do not buy “AdSense reinstatement” services. There is no private route into Google. The people advertising this in creator groups are running a second scam on someone already in distress, which is the same pattern we described in our post on fake sponsorship emails in Pakistan.
Do not delete your videos. It does not help the appeal, and if you are reinstated you will want the channel intact.
Do not keep appealing. One considered appeal beats six angry ones, and after a final decision further appeals may not be read at all.
How Do You Avoid This in the First Place?
Nearly every AdSense account disabled case traces back to traffic somebody sent on the channel’s behalf, so this is mostly about controlling who promotes you.
- Never buy views, subscribers or watch hours. This is the single biggest cause, and the damage shows up months after the purchase.
- Never click your own ads, and do not ask friends or staff to click them. There is no small amount of this that is safe.
- Stop using view-exchange and sub4sub groups. They are engineered to produce exactly the pattern Google’s systems look for.
- Be careful who you hire for promotion. If a service cannot tell you specifically where the views come from, assume they come from the place that gets accounts disabled. You are responsible for traffic driven on your behalf.
- Watch for sudden unexplained spikes. If views jump with no corresponding traffic source in YouTube Analytics, somebody may be sending bot traffic at your channel. Report it through YouTube rather than ignoring it.
If your ads have become restricted rather than stopped entirely, that is a different and much more recoverable situation, covered in our post on YouTube limited ads.
When This Is Genuinely the End of the Channel
Two situations where rebuilding is the better use of your time than appealing again.
The appeal has had its final decision. Once Google has decided and further appeals are not being considered, continuing to write them costs months you could spend elsewhere. The channel itself may still exist; what is gone is ad revenue through AdSense.
You know the traffic was bought. If you did pay for views and the appeal is honest about it, the realistic outcome is not reinstatement. Plan around that rather than waiting on it.
In both cases the channel can still earn through routes that do not run on AdSense: sponsorships, your own products, and clients. Our guides to YouTube sponsorship rates in Pakistan and turning YouTube into leads in Pakistan cover both. For a business, the second is usually worth more than ad revenue ever was.
FAQs
Can I get my AdSense account back after it was disabled for invalid traffic?
Sometimes, through the single invalid activity appeal. Google reviews what you submit and issues a final decision, and states plainly that reinstatement is not guaranteed. The appeal is worth making properly, but it should not be the only plan you have for the next three months.
Will I still be paid the money in my account?
A 30-day hold starts when the account is disabled. After it, you can sign in to see any remaining eligible balance and arrange payment. Revenue flagged as invalid is not paid, so expect the final amount to be lower than the balance shown before the disabling.
Can I use someone else’s AdSense account for my channel?
No. Creators disabled for invalid traffic cannot rejoin AdSense or open new accounts, and monetising through another person’s account is treated as circumventing that. It converts a problem that might have been appealable into one that is not.
How long does the appeal take?
Google does not publish a timeline. Including the email address linked to the disabled account is stated to help speed up processing. Treat it as weeks rather than days, and do not submit a second appeal while waiting.
Does this affect my YouTube channel itself?
The channel is not deleted by an AdSense disabling. What stops is ad revenue. Your videos, subscribers and analytics remain, which is why the non-AdSense routes above are a realistic plan rather than starting over.
Working With Unity Films
We manage YouTube channels for creators and businesses across Pakistan, and the first rule we apply is that nothing gets promoted through paid view services, ever. It is the fastest way to lose an account and it is entirely avoidable.
If an account has already been disabled, we can help you write the appeal clearly and then plan the revenue routes that do not depend on AdSense, which for most business channels were the larger share anyway.
That work sits under our YouTube channel management service.
Agar aap ko abhi yeh email aaya hai aur samajh nahi aa raha kya likhna hai, to WhatsApp par bhej dein. Appeal ka draft dekh kar bata denge kya theek karna hai, chahe kaam hamare saath na ho.
Final Thoughts
An AdSense account disabled for invalid traffic is recoverable only through one careful appeal, and most creators spend that chance in the first hour while angry.
Read the email properly. Gather the facts. Write once, factually, with the linked email address, an honest cause and a prevention plan. Submit it and then leave it alone.
Meanwhile, do not open a second account, do not pay anyone promising reinstatement, and start building the part of your income that was never going to come from ads anyway.
